Eligibility & Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Transmission preferred), or Power Systems.
  • 0-2 years of experience with Energy Modeling and Power Market Analysis.
  • Knowledge of or experience working in several North American, European or Asian power markets.

Required Skills

  • Experience with energy market modelling.
  • Knowledge of production cost modelling software like PLEXOS (preferred), Aurora, or Pro-mod.
  • Good knowledge of Power Plant/Natural Gas Economics, Power Systems, and Energy Markets/Industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert skills using Excel, Power BI, and similar tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and see projects through from start to finish.
  • Basic understanding of energy economics for power market fundamentals.
  • Knowledge and experience with transmission planning and nodal market modeling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of Global Power Market models/dataset using PLEXOS/Aurora tools.
  • Assist in market research, model updates, result analysis, and model benchmarking.
  • Visualize and analyze production cost market model results using Power BI and Excel.
  • Work on projects to deliver standalone datasets using fundamental data along with PLEXOS and Aurora power market models.
  • Maintain large databases of energy-related data from various sources.
  • Run PLEXOS and/or Aurora and interpret output model results.
  • Troubleshoot market models and intermediate work products for errors and improvements.
